your details

See, fix or remove your details

You can ask to see what’s held about you, have something corrected, or have it deleted. It costs nothing, you don’t have to give a reason, and asking doesn’t affect anything else.

If you enquired with a tattoo artist

Ask the artist you contacted. They hold your details and they can do all three. Their page has a “how your details are handled” link at the bottom with their contact on it.

If you can’t reach them, or you’d rather not go through them, come to us instead. We run the system they use, so we can act on their instruction and tell you when it’s done.

Email us about your details, or write to privacy@boneheaddigital.com yourself. Tell us which artist or studio you contacted, the name and the phone or email you gave them, and what you’d like done. We need those to find you: they’re often the only things connecting you to a record.

If you have a Bonehead Ledger account

That means you’re a tattoo artist or studio using the app. Email privacy@boneheaddigital.com from the address your account uses, or ask your Bonehead Digital contact. Closing an account deletes the workspace and everything in it, and you get an export of your records first if you want one.

What happens next

A person reads it. There’s no automated queue behind this address, which is deliberate: a request to delete someone needs checking that the person asking is the person concerned, and that’s not a thing to hand to a robot.

We’ll confirm we’ve got it within a few days and finish within 20 working days, which is the limit the New Zealand Privacy Act sets. If it turns out we need something more from you to be sure it’s you, we’ll say so rather than guess.

What doesn’t get deleted

Records of work actually done, such as a booking, a payment, or terms you signed, are kept while the artist needs them for tax and for their own protection. So are backup copies, which roll off on their own schedule rather than being edited. Enquiries that never went anywhere carry none of that, and go completely.

Deleting your details doesn’t undo advertising measurement that already happened. How that works, and how to switch it off, is in the privacy policy.

If you’re not happy with the answer

You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand at privacy.org.nz, or to the OAIC in Australia at oaic.gov.au. You don’t need our permission and it costs nothing.
